In 2023, Nanjing’s total foreign trade volume reached an impressive 565.99 billion RMB! The export of three types of products (new energy vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaics) skyrocketd to 35.19 billion RMB, a 21.2% increase from the previous year, making up 10.6% of Nanjing’s total exports.

Last year, Nanjing’s export of new energy vehicles reached 2.95 billion RMB, a staggering 220.9% growth! Renowned Nanjing-based foreign trade company SUMEC expanded into new markets in the Middle East, exporting a total of 67 million RMB worth of used vehicles to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and other countries and regions.

The new energy vehicle, lithium-ion battery, and solar cell industries are driving the growth of Nanjing’s foreign trade. Nanjing companies are gaining recognition in the international market. For example, LG Energy Solution (Nanjing) Co., Ltd., in 2023, exported over 1000 batches of lithium battery packs, with a total value of 12.2 billion RMB, a 7.2% increase from the previous year. The products were exported to the United States, South Korea, Germany, and other countries.
