Kanye Omari West , husband of Kim Kardashian and the inventor of Yeezy shoes, actually spent some of his childhood in Nanjing.
Kanye’s mother Donna West was a professor of English at the University of Atlanta and the chair of the English Department at the University of Chicago.
In 1987, Donna was sent by the University of Chicago to Nanjing University to participate in an exchange program and served as a guest professor at the School of Foreign Languages of Nanjing University for one year.
Kanye, who was 10 years old at the time, followed his mother to China naturally, and attended Nanjing Confucius Temple Primary School for a year.
