The 2023 International Standardization (Chilin) Forum opened in Nanjing

On June 7, the 2023 International Standardization (Chilin) Forum opened in Nanjing. Tian Shihong, deputy director of the State Administration for Market Regulation and director of the Standardization Administration; Hu Guangjie, vice governor of Jiangsu province; and Chen Zhichang, mayor of Nanjing, delivered a speech respectively. Shu Yinbiao, the 36th president of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Philippe Metzger, secretary-general of the IEC; Shawn Paulsen, vice-president of the IEC; Huang Wei, Xue Yusheng and Rao Hong, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and Wu Wei, vice mayor of Nanjing, attended the Forum. Themed “Driving the Transition to An All-Electric Society”, this Forum proposes standardized solutions for the development needs of an all-electric society, and makes greater contributions to promoting international standardization to help the transition to an all-electric society and achieve sustainable development by promoting the development, application and cooperation of international standards for the all-electric society. Chen Zhichang extended a warm welcome to all the leaders and guests attending the Forum. He said that in recent years, Nanjing has vigorously implemented the standardization strategy, accelerated the construction of a standard system for promoting high-quality development, and maintained a leading position among similar cities in all key indicators of standardized development. Going forward, Nanjing will further strengthen its leading advantage in standardization, enhance the level of standardized openness, grow the team of standardized enterprises, explore the standardized social governance, empower urban development with standardization, accumulate innovative advantages with standardization, and make high standards become a powerful support for high-quality development. He hoped that the guests can speak freely, pool wisdom and contribute more insights to the development of standardization innovation; and more enterprises, institutions and talents are welcomed to share development opportunities and create a better future with us.
