The Bank of China has recently issued a digital CNY payment guide for international visitors to China, improving the multi-level payment service system.

Nanjing now offers comprehensive payment services for foreigners visiting Jiangsu, including bank card acceptance, cash transactions, mobile payments, and account services, catering to their needs for “food, accommodation, travel, tourism, shopping, and medical care”.

The overseas version of the Digital RMB App supports registration with mobile phone numbers from over 210 countries and regions.

To access these services, international visitors can follow the steps in the “Payment Guidelines”: search for “e-CNY” in their mobile app store, download and install the overseas version of the Digital RMB App, register, and open a digital currency wallet, known as the e-CNY Wallet, through any supporting international service provider.
