Nanjing ranked The Evaluation Report on Intellectual Property Competitiveness of National Key Cities in China is newly released, and Nanjing’s intellectual property competitiveness is ranked fifth in the country, following the Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
The number of invention patents owned by 10,000 people in the city is 135.36, ranking third in the country.
Supported and led by intellectual property rights, in the first half of this year, Nanjing had 17,700 national science and technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, 107 new “small giants” (national pecialized, high-end and innovation-driven SMEs), and the business income of innovative industry clusters increased by 10.6%.
In order to promote intellectual property rights, Nanjing has come up with a series of policy initiatives. It was the first to set up an intellectual property court, created the first digital trading platform for intellectual property assets, the first intellectual property protection workstation for enterprises to be listed, and was approved as a model city for the construction of a national intellectual property city.
