Nanjing join UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities

The city has joined UNESCO’s prestigious “Global Network of  Learning Cities”. UNESCO Director-General Azoulay underscores the pivotal role of cities in ensuring universal access to education.

This network fosters policy dialogues, knowledge exchange, and practice sharing among member cities, promoting lifelong learning and sustainable community development.

As China’s exclusive City of Literature, Nanjing boasts a profound cultural heritage and abundant educational resources, hosting China’s inaugural Book Fair and over 400 grassroots learning organizations.

Residents’ comprehensive reading rate stands at an impressive 96.53%.
