Nanjing salted duck: In 2020, the Council of the European Union made a decision to authorize the formal signing of the China-EU Geographical Indications Agreement. 100 Geographical Indications in China were protected by the European Union, and Nanjing Salted Duck was on the list of Geographical Indications. The China-EU Geographical Indications Agreement is the first significant bilateral trade agreement signed between China and the EU. According to this agreement, the first batch of 100 geographical indications from China and the European Union will be protected from the date of entry into force of the agreement. With this “amulet”, Nanjing Saltwater Duck can be fully protected when it enters the European Union.
