The 2023 International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads was held from Monday to Friday in two cities of Nanjing and Changsha. This event was co-sponsored by UNESCO, China National Commission for UNESCO, Nanjing Municipal People’s Government and Changsha Municipal People’s Government.
With the theme of Youth Engagement in Promoting Cultural Diversity and Inclusion, this forum attracted youth representatives of the United Nations and more than 100 outstanding young people from more than 60 countries along “the Belt and Road”.
The activities, such as A Poetry Tour of Nanjing, High-Level Roundtable Dialogue, and Youth Sharing Session, lit up the Nanjing venue.
This year is the sixth year that Nanjing hosts the event of International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads. Nanjing, with a civilization history of more than 6000 years and a city-building history of nearly 2500 years, is currently the only “City of Literature” in China, and also an important hub city at the intersection of “the Belt and Road”.
Since the proposal of jointly building “the Belt and Road”, Nanjing is always embracing the world with an open and inclusive attitude, exploring urban renewal and cultural heritage protection, promoting the integration of different cultures, and providing “Nanjing experience” for countries along “the Belt and Road”.
