At Nanjing Lukou Airport, cross-border e-commerce commodities, such as mud crabs and agricultural products from Dhaka, Bangladesh, arrive on direct flights to Nanjing. These are everyday trade scenes at the bustling airport.
Statistics reveal a significant surge: Nanjing Lukou Airport Customs and Xinshengwei Customs oversaw 4,632.9 tons and 948.77 tons of cross-border e-commerce exports in the first two months of 2024, marking an increase of 681% and 677%.
Nanjing Lukou Airport operates six international all-cargo routes, with 4 dedicated to transporting cross-border e-commerce commodities to North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Additionally, there are 25 global belly freight routes, covering 14 destinations across Europe, Oceania, and Asia, among others.
These routes stimulate import-export activities, fostering an environment in Nanjing where “buying and selling globally without leaving home” thrives.
Driven by this momentum, over a thousand enterprises in Nanjing are actively engaged in cross-border e-commerce operations. Nanjing has established five cross-border e-commerce industrial parks and 19 innovation incubation bases. It has also set up overseas warehouses in South Korea and Japan and developed direct marketing platforms for imports from key markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Australia. These efforts drive Nanjing’s growth and facilitate global trade.
