On the afternoon of December 5th, Wouter Verhey, Agricultural Counselor of the Dutch Embassy in China, and Richard van Ostende, chief representative of the Nanjing Representative Office of the Netherlands Council for the Promotion of International Trade, visited the Jiangsu Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone (hereinafter referred to as Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone). Yang Bing, Director of the Management Committee of Baima High-tech Zone, Shi Chenxi, Director of the Economic Development Bureau, and Li Zhenhua, Director of Jiangsu Economic and Trade Representative Office in the Netherlands, received the Agricultural Counselor and his party.
Counselor Wouter Verhey and his entourage first learned in detail about the development history and industrial planning of Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone, and highly praised the green and smart agriculture as the main theme and bio-agriculture as the leading industry which built an international agricultural science, technology cooperation demonstration zone and the Yangtze River Delta, along with the development ideas and positioning of the source of agricultural scientific and technological innovation and the rural model area for scientific and technological revitalization.
Counselor Verhey stated that the two parties adhere to the common vision of agricultural technology innovation and the future development of food industry clusters, and have broad opportunities for cooperation in scientific research, technical services, industrial resource docking, and responded to requests for support one by one. The chief representative of Richard van Ostende also conducted in-depth exchanges on issues such as the land and space planning of the Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone and the settlement of Dutch enterprises, which opened the way for the next step of cooperation between the two parties and achieved win-win development.
