According to customs statistics, Nanjing’s total foreign trade imports and exports in 2019 reached 32.42 billion yuan, of which exports were 23.29 billion yuan, an increase of 4.9%, a 2.8 percentage points higher than the province’s foreign trade export growth.

Facing the complex and severe external environment in 2019, foreign trade companies in our city actively explore emerging markets such as the “Belt and Road” and Africa. The overall development of foreign trade is relatively stable, and the diversified expansion of the advantageous industry market has achieved remarkable results. From the perspective of exporting countries, imports and exports to the EU and ASEAN were 5.98 billion yuan and 5.72 billion yuan, an increase of 5.4% and 29.6% respectively. The import and export of 64 countries along the “Belt and Road” was 9.93 billion yuan, an increase of 20.4%. The total value of imports and exports to African countries was 840 million yuan, an increase of 62.1%. From the perspective of export products, the city’s mechanical and electrical products exported 10.09 billion yuan in 2019, an increase of 25.3%. The main export commodities are lead-acid batteries, mobile phone accessories, auto parts, etc.; six types of labor-intensive labor, which includes footwear, textiles, clothing and furniture.
