On November 26, the 2024 France-Nanjing Economic and Academic Meetings as successfully held in Nanjing, marking another milestone in the long-standing relationship between China and France.
The event, organized by the Nanjing Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau and the Lyon-China Relations Promotion Center, brought together approximately 150 representatives from government, industry, and academia.
The event featured industry environment presentations from Nanjing and the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Region, inspiring businesses to explore joint ventures. A series of key agreements were signed, including a Memorandum of Understanding between the Nanjing Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau and the Lyon Chamber of Commerce, and new collaboration projects with prominent organizations such as the China National Silk Museum and member companies of the Lyon Sino-French Institute.
Representatives from BioMerieux, Neyret Group, Bank of Nanjing, and others shared success stories of Sino-French partnerships, emphasizing the complementary strengths of both economies and the vast potential for collaboration.
Nanjing has long been a fertile ground for French businesses, hosting over 100 French-invested projects with a combined contract value exceeding $1.4 billion. Companies like Valeo, Saint-Gobain, and BNP Paribas have thrived in the city, contributing significantly to its economic development.
