China’s first 5-star 5G factory, ZTE’s Nanjing Smart Binjiang 5G Factory, has officially completed construction.

Located in Nanjing, the factory is renowned for “leveraging 5G technology to improve the process of producing 5G equipment”. It boasts 100% 5G network coverage across the entire facility.

5G technology is applied throughout the entire process—from R&D and production to testing, logistics, and operations. This has greatly boosted automation capabilities, reducing delivery times from 20 days to 14 days, cutting carbon emissions by 29%, and lowering energy consumption per unit by 19%.

Founded in 1993, ZTE’s Nanjing R&D Center is the company’s largest research base. In recent years, ZTE has also established the Global 5G Intelligent Manufacturing Base at Nanjing Jiangning Binjiang New Town, the Nanjing Server and Storage Product Manufacturing Center, and Phase I of the Nanjing R&D Center’s third district.

With these advancements, ZTE is setting a new standard in smart manufacturing, leading the way toward a more sustainable and connected future.
