On August 6, McDonald’s China inaugurated its new Scientific Research Headquarters in Xuanwu District, Nanjing.
This R&D center, located in Xuzhuang Software Park near Xianlin University Town, spans over 6,500 square meters across seven floors and will house more than 450 technical experts.
Since 1995, McDonald’s has had a strong connection with Nanjing. By 2020, the Golden Arches had established a technology R&D center there.
This year, the Golden Arches Digital Science Center was launched in Nanjing, serving as the sole IT strategy R&D hub in China.
“On the 7th anniversary of the Golden Arches, we are excited to unveil our new scientific research headquarters. It will work in synergy with McDonald’s China in Shanghai to enhance the innovation network in the Yangtze River Delta region,” stated Zhang Jiayin, CEO of McDonald’s China.
Over the next five years, McDonald’s China plans to invest $4 billion in digital R&D and innovation to drive advancements.
