On the afternoon of November 7, on the occasion of the Fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE), the 2022 Nanjing High Quality Development Investment Environment Promotion Conference was held in Shanghai. At the promotion conference, 35 cooperation projects were signed on site, with a total investment of RMB 32.8 billion, involving innovative industries such as smart grid, new energy vehicle, biomedicine, integrated circuits as well as intelligent equipment manufacturing, technical research and development, functional headquarters and other fields. Among them, there are 7 foreign-funded projects with a total investment of about 1 billion US dollars.
To achieve the “double carbon” goal, Nanjing is accelerating the development of green and low-carbon transformation. At this promotion conference, Nanjing government cooperated with Air Products, a global leader in industrial gas. Air Products plans to invest in the hydrogen energy project at Jiangning Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a total investment of about RMB 300 million.
Air Products, with three wholly-owned subsidiaries and one joint venture company in Nanjing, has promoted the use and development of clean energy in Nanjing”, said by a principal from the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce. According to him/her, the new project will apply the world’s leading liquid hydrogen technology to provide the most advanced solutions for local complete vehicle and core fuel cell parts enterprises in Jiangning District. At the same time, it will also bring related enterprises in the industrial chain collaboration into Jiangning Economic and Technological Development Zone to jointly build a demonstration model of “low carbon” development in Eastern China.
During the fifth CIIE, municipal leaders also led a team to visit Linde, the world’s leading industrial gas and engineering corporation, and expressed the will to expand cooperation for green, low-carbon transformation and industrial upgrading of traditional industries in Nanjing.

According to a principal from the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, in recent years, Nanjing has accelerated the development of foreign-funded shared service functional organizations, and successively introduced foreign-funded incorporated or unincorporated organizations with shared service functions, such as KPMG Nanjing Innovation Center, Cargill Asia Business Service Center, BASF Digital Hub China and BMW China Information Technology Center. “We hope to take the cooperation expansion as an opportunity to accelerate the gathering of such institutions in Nanjing, extend the scope and opening up of the service industry, and serve the high-quality development of advanced manufacturing.
At the promotion conference, BNP Paribas plans to invest in and cooperate with partners in operating Nanjing’s consumer finance projects, thus leading the development of new finance and the expansion and opening up of the service industry in the city.
