Nanjing’s total imports and exports value rose 7.8% in the first 4 months

In the first four months of this year, the city’s total import and export value amounted to 194.4 billion yuan, indicating a 7.8% increase from the previous year. Of this figure, exports accounted for 112.48 billion yuan, which is a 9.9% increase year-on-year, while imports reached 81.92 billion yuan, indicating a 4.9% increase year-on-year.

Nanjing’s general trade was 146.64 billion yuan, an increase of 2.3%, accounting for 75.4% of the city’s total import and export value.

The city’s imports from and exports to ASEAN and South Korea were 31.42 billion yuan and 28.73 billion yuan, up 32.9% and 24.6% respectively. Nanjing’s export and import statistic totaled 61.51 billion yuan trading with Countries along the Belt and Road Initiative area, an increase of 29.4%.

Furthermore, Nanjing exported 61.7 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, which represents an increase of 18.5% from the previous year, accounting for 54.9% of the total export value.

Of this amount, energy exports such as Lithium batteries, solar batteries, and electric passenger vehicles amounted to 9.84 billion yuan, 1.66 billion yuan, and 360 million yuan, an increase of 56.8%, 53.9%, and 269% respectively.
