On March 30th, the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter hosted the “2023 European Chamber Nanjing Municipal Government Dialogue” in Nanjing. The dialogue focused on topics such as business environment and talent policy, and aimed to promote the opening-up and innovation development of Nanjing.
Danfoss, a Danish multinational corporation that has been in business for 90 years, a global pioneer in electrification, digitalization, and intelligent manufacturing. “We deeply appreciate the rich resources, enabling industries, preferential policies, and quality services in Nanjing”, said Mr. Xue Li, Vice President of Danfoss China. In 2021, he announced an investment of 100 million euros to construct a silicon-power plant in the Nanjing Development Zone that would concentrate on the R&D of intelligent power modules.
“Our diligent efforts in commercial cultivation in China have led us to establish our presence in Nanjing for more than two decades. The exceptional geographical location and business environment of Nanjing have fortified our confidence in our future operation and investment”, said Mr. Frank Tang, General Manager of SUSPA (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. The new factory in Jiangning Airpark Development Zone officially began operation in 2021, with the assistance of the local government throughout the entire process, from site selection to construction to operation.
Zhou Yurong, General Manager of Siemens Numerical Control Ltd. (Nanjing) stated, “In June 2022, the first native digital factory of Siemens was established in Lishui Development Zone in Nanjing. We also have plans to establish our Asia-Pacific headquarters in Jiangning, Nanjing in the future. Cultivating skilled workers, attracting prominent talents, and implementing talent policies are critical to the growth of our business.”
According to Dr. Andreas Risch, the current Chairman of European Chamber Nanjing Chapter and Managing Director of Fettte Compacting (China) Co., Ltd., a large number of members belonging to the European Chamber have established themselves in Jiangsu for a significant duration of time. With Nanjing and Jiangsu becoming increasingly appealing, it benefits companies that invest in Nanjing as they would gain access to a friendly environment for business expansion and growth.
